  • Audition Call for Dance Nation

    HEIST and Keep Good (Theatre) Company have teamed up to produce the theatrical event of 2024, DANCE NATION by Clare Barron!

    Outside dates for the show are April 24th – May 26th, 2024. We will be presenting at Alderney Landing.

    We are auditioning for 7 parts and encourage applications from qualified individuals of all cultural backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. Not only is this very important to both our companies, but it is part of the very essence of this play. Age diversity is especially important for this project!

  • We are hiring a Producer!

    Keep Good (Theatre) Company and HEIST are seeking a producer for an upcoming production

    Length of contract: The contract begins on the 23rd of October 2023 and runs until May 30th, 2024 for a total of 31 weeks. The Producer will be expected to track and schedule their own hours in consultation with the producing companies. Hours during the fall/winter will be approximately 5-10 hours per week with workload expected to increase steadily from February through to the end of May.

    Hourly wage: $20 per hour for a total of 400 hours. 

    Total fee: $8000.00

    Venue: Alderney Landing Theatre in Dartmouth  

    Outside dates:

    Rehearsals start: April 24th

    First preview: May 21st, 2024

    Opening Night: May 22nd, 2024 

    Closing performance: May 26th, 2024 (Matinee) 

    (7 performances total) 

    Responsibilities: 

    Marketing
    Social media 
    Contracting 
    Budget management 
    Assistance with organizing auditions
    Communications 
    Liaising with the box office, and front of house and venue staff. 
    Planning a fundraising event and opening acts. 
    Updating website as needed. 

    Qualifications/Experience

    Love of Theatre
    Ideally based in Halifax but not required. 
    Social media marketing experience 
    Experience with Canadian Actor’s equity 
    Experience in fundraising
    Valid driver’s license and car are considered an asset 
    Experience producing an independent theatre show in the past is considered an asset
