Runner-up for the Pulitzer Prize in drama, DANCE NATION tells the story of seven tween competition dancers desperate to achieve world domination. Based on the reality TV show Dance Moms, DANCE NATION is a ferocious explosion of girlhood in a world that only cares about your ability to bring home the gold. In this haunting and surreal experience, the ruthlessness of competition and rawness of teenagehood are brought to life by some of Nova Scotia’s best theatre talent.
Playing for a limited run from May 22nd to 26th, 2024 at Alderney Landing Theatre.

Keep Good (Theatre) Company’s co-artistic director Laura Vingoe-Cram helms the production as director. Abady Alzahrani, of the popular House of Eights Dance Studios (winner if the Coast’s Best of for Dance Company 2023), choreographs the show. Vignoe-Cram “loves how the show highlights all the tension, contradictions, and angst of teenagehood.” Alzahrani appreciates “getting to explore the life of dancers and to embody the creepy with the sexy, the childish and the mature, and all.” Building this fantastical world where the characters’ internal lives become action, we have designers Aaron Collier, Diego Cavedon Dias, Brenda Duran, Jackson Fairfax-Perry,and Holly Meyer-Dymny.
Featuring an all star cast representing the spectres of who their characters grow up to be, we have actors: Richie Wilcox; Kyle Gillis, Mauralea Austin, Sharleen Kalayil; Lily Falk; Riel Reddick-Stevens; Jade Douris O’Hara, Samantha Wilson and Kirsten Alter.
Keep Good (Theatre) Company in association with HEIST is proud to present this large and courageous theatrical event that will be a unique experience for HRM audiences in Miꞌkmaꞌki.
